the sun's little secrets

This is a project I hold very close to my heart.
It was achieved by refracting sunlight through drinking glasses filled with varying amounts of water and rotated at different angles to project magical shapes onto a black sheet of paper.
After individually photographing them, I brought them into Photoshop and -without altering the original essence of the shapes- arranged them into the art pieces you see below.
Upon accidentally hitting the Sharpen tool, I discovered that it brought out the clarity in the texture of the paper and was pleasantly surprised at the incidental glitter effect produced.
I proceeded to adjust the intensity and brushed over the parts I wanted highlighted.
Behind the scenes:
This entire project was very serendipitous for me as I never would've had the idea to create it if it wasn't for a depressive episode (caused by an art block) which led me to take some time out and go sip green tea on my balcony for a while.
That's when -through the glass in my hand- the sun shared with me her little secrets.
